If you are going to expand and grow your business through franchising, here is a checklist in short to assess yourself and your prospective franchisees, dealers, distributors etc.
                                          
I)  Assessing yourself: - Before expanding and growing your business through franchising, you should ask yourself the following questions and answer them honestly: -

  a)  Are you financially sound and ready to invest with your franchisees?
  b)  Do you have a proven track record of your product or services and your company?
  c)  Is your franchise fee is competitive and reasonable?
  d)  Do you have sufficient source of supply of product or service in the future?
  e)  Do you operate pilot franchise?
   f)  Do you have sufficient funds for advertisement materials for your prospective franchisees?
  g)  Do you have a good franchise package?
  h)  Have you prepared franchise-operating manual?
                                          
II)  Assessing your franchisees, dealers or distributors: -
You can ask the following questions from franchisees, dealers or distributors to assess them. You can also prepare your set of questions for your requirements :-

  a)  Are required funds available with him?
  b)  How many funds can be borrowed?
  c)  What is his/her past history and achievements?
  d)  Is he/she interested to the business?
  e)  Is building premises available? And if yes, then where it is located.
   f)  What is knowledge of interested territory?
  g)  Whether he/she is teachable?
  h)  How many work forces are available?
   i)  How much time he/she will put into it?
   j)  How much return on investment he/she is expecting from it?
